CITY COUNCIL WANTS TO REVISIT PLANS FOR THE NEW BROCK MISSION

The rising cost of building the new Brock Mission deserves a closer look.
That is the opinion of city council, after members voted to have staff speak with those at the Brock Mission and Peterborough Housing Corporation last night about less-expensive options.
Keith Riel says the need is too great and this project can't wait.
Andrew Beamer says he supports finding out where money can be saved.
The price tag for the project has gone up to $10.7 million from the original starting point of around $7 million.
The new facility was designed to include 30 beds for homeless men, plus 15 small rental rooms.
