COUNCIL TO CONSIDER BROCK MISSION COSTS AND SPEED LIMIT ON HUNTER STREET
7/9/2018 6:43:19 AM
Councillors will gather at City Hall for one last time this evening, before taking a break for the summer.
Council is expected to give a-thumbs down to providing more funding to the rebuild of the Brock Mission.
A couple of weeks ago, council was asked to dip into reserves to help cover off the increased cost of the rebuild, which equates to about $3.2 million dollars.
Instead, it's expected that staff will be asked to chat with Brock Mission staff and Peterborough Housing Corporation to look at alternative options.
It's also expected that a plan to lower the speed limit on Hunter Street East between Burnham Street and Ashburnham Drive from 50km/h down to 40 will get the green light and designate King George Public School as a heritage designation.
The meeting gets underway at 5:30 p.m.
