RCMP CHARGE A CALGARY MAN IN BRONCOS BUS CRASH 7/6/2018 4:16:04 PM
RCMP have laid charges in relation to the crash involving the Humboldt Broncos bus.
Superintendant Derek Williams says they have the driver of the transport, a 29 year old Calgary man named Jaskirat Sidhu
He says a single charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death has a maximum penalty of 14 years, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, a maximum of 10 years.
The crash led to the death of 16 people including staff and players of the Humboldt Broncos, and left 13 injured.
Superintendent Williams says this was a very sophisticated investigation
While charges were laid, and the complexity of the investigation was described, very few other details were provided
He'll be in a Saskatchewan court next week.
