5/15/2018 6:11:09 AM

Police Week across the country is well underway.

Yesterday, the Peterborough Police Service marked, for the first time in its 150 year history, an honorary police chief.

Communications Coordinator Lauren Gilchrist says this year's Honorary Chief is Dr. Hugh Russell.

Later on this week, another Chief will receive their badge.

Grade 6 student Lauren Graham has been named this year's 'Chief For A Day' after writing the best poem about why its important residents and police to work together.

She will be sworn in and get a tour of police headquarters tomorrow morning.
