PETERBOROUGH MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING AND DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

Charges have been laid following an early morning incident in the south end of the city.
At around 2:30am this morning, an officer on patrol in the area of Braidwood and Park apparently saw a vehicle going through an intersection at around 100 km/h.
The officer apparently watch the driver of the vehicle go through a red light at Monghan Road without stopping.
The vehicle was stopped, and after noticing the smell of alcohol on the drivers breath, a breath test revealed that he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
28 year old Tyler Proutt is charged with:
· Impaired driving
· Operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 blood alcohol content
· Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
The accused was also served a 90 day automatic drivers licence suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment, and will be in court in early June.
