The Peterborough Police Services Board is trying to figure out what is the best way to spend an almost $200,000 surplus from its 2017 budget.
At a meeting last night, members looked at purchasing a fingerprint scanner, outfitting new auxiliary officers and acquiring new mental health software.
The Examiner reports the board will also ask city council if it can put some of the money in a reserve fund.
The board meets again on May 1st.
