WEEKEND SPORTS RECAP: FLEMING WINS CURLING BRONZE, ICE KATS ADVANCE IN PLAYOFFS

The end of a disappointing season on the court for the Fleming men's basketball team is creeping closer.

Yesterday, the Knights lost their 12th in a row, 90-66 to George Brown.

The squad is now 2-16 overall and will wrap up their season with a pair of home games next weekend.

The Fleming women's curling team landed a bronze medal at the OCAA Championships.

The Knights snagged a spot on the podium with a thrilling 7-6 win over Humber.

The men's team did not come home with a medal.

It was another winless weekend for both the Trent men's and women's teams.

The Excalibur were swept in a doubleheader by Waterloo yesterday.

The men's team is now 0-14 on the season, while the women are 0-15.

Both teams will play Nipissing at home next weekend.

The 6th place Peterborough Kings Auto Wreckers Midget AA Ice Kats advanced to the 2nd round of the East Division Playoffs after winning the deciding 1st round game in a shootout.

The Ice Kats traveled to the Invista Centre in Kingston on Sunday afternoon to play in the deciding game.

In the shootout, Peterborough goaltender Amanda Storey stopped 3 out of 4 Kingston shooters, while Kate Taylor and Hannah Kawalec were able to score for the Ice Kats, securing the win for Peterborough.

The Midget AA Ice Kats will now play the Markham-Stouffville Stars.
