'COP SHOP' EVENT TO BE HELD AT LANSDOWNE PLACE
12/6/2017 7:00:03 AM

If you see a lot of police officers walking around Lansdowne Place, don't be alarmed, they are there for good reasons.

Today is the annual 'Cop Shop', which pairs an officer with a child who has be nominated by their school for a nice excursion.

Communications Coordinator with the police service, Lauren Gilchrist, says this event helps build a positive relationship between cops and young people.

Marketing Director Emily Dart says the idea originally came from Halifax.

The day for students will include a limo ride, breakfast and a $200 gift card.
