OPP WILL BE WATCHING ROADS, TRAILS AND WATERWAYS CLOSELY THIS LONG-WEEKEND
10/6/2017 5:50:37 AM

A total of 239 people have died in what the OPP are calling preventable road deaths this year and in a majority of those, the 'Big 4' were a contributing factor.

The 'Big 4' is distracted, impaired and aggressive driving and not wearing a seatbelt.

Sergeant Kerry Schmidt says as families make travel plans this long weekend, policing agencies right across the province will be out in full force to ensure everyone makes it to their destination safely.

He says police will not only be monitoring highways, but also on the waterways and trails.
