MOTHER OF CRASH VICTIM URGES YOU TO BECOME AN ORGAN DONOR 8/10/2017 8:04:10 AM
A grieving mother is still trying to make sense of the sudden death of her teenage daughter, and to find some good from it.
Christine Milligan is the mother of 19 year old Cassidey Ouelette who was critically injured after her car ended up in a ditch on County Road 45 north of Hastings on Friday night.
Ms. Ouelette died on Saturday at a hospital in Toronto, just before her 20th birthday.
Milligan says her daughters death will allow up to 8 others to have a new lease on life.
Christine's brother Rob was a former Conservative MPP for Northumberland-Quinte West and had introduced a private members bill about organ donations, but when the legislature dissolved in 2014, the bill was forgotten about.
Milligan wants that bill to be reintroduced and to be called 'Cassey's Bill' which would include making it mandatory for everyone to be a donor, except for religious or personal reasons, and when you sign your donor card it can't be changed.
