WATER LEVELS DROPPING BUT FLOOD WARNING REMAINS
5/18/2017 3:30:17 PM

The Otonabee Region Conservation Authority says water levels are continuing to drop, but it could be about a week or so before high water levels and flows drop below flood thresholds.

ORCA says the levels on many of the area lakes have dropped 20-25cm below their peak water levels, the Otonabee River has gone down 40cm and Rice Lake and Trent River have gone down 10cm, and that trend is expected to continue through the long weekend despite the forecast of rain tonight and Sunday.

Despite the drop, levels and flows are still considered unsafe and everyone is reminded to stay away from the water ways.
