It's 'Police Week' with the Peterborough Police Service, which allows officers to get better connected with the younger residents.

Yesterday, officers pedalled their way over to two schools to take part in a bike rodeo which allowed students to test their knowledge of both bike safety and rules of the road.

Constable Sean Nusink says the theme for the week this year is 'Working Together for Safter Communities'.

A young person will be named 'Chief For A Day' out of those who took part in an essay writing contest, and members of the community and members of the police service will be honoured tonight at an awards ceremony at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
