Sustainable Peterborough has handed out its annual awards to recognize local environmental leaders.

A ceremony was held at Market Hall last night and it was attended by just under 100 people.

Among the recipients: Farms at Work took home honours in the Agriculture and Local Food category, while Trent University won in the Climate Change category for a large-scale energy retrofit program.

Cultural Assets: Lang Pioneer Village

Economic Development and Employment: Kawartha Local

Energy: Mortlock Construction and Lett Architects

Healthy Communities: Seeds of Change

Land Use Planning: Otonabee-South Monaghan Township

Natural Assets: Otonabee Conservation, Siemens Canada Ltd. and the City of Peterborough

Transportation: Fleming College Student Administrative Council

Waste: Belmont Lake Brewery

Water: GreenUp
