A new project hopes to improve services so that more young people will continue to read.

The Peterborough Public Library Foundation launched the 'Help the Children Find a Seat' fundraising campaign last week.

The campaign will renew the children's section of the main branch of the Peterborough Library.

Chair, Teresa Kerr, says that the importance of early literacy has been proven, and so making the children's section cozy and welcoming is very important.

The campaign goal is to raise $25,000 by the end of August to go towards a cozy area for story time and programming as well as floor to ceiling windows.
