MISSING TEEN MAY BE IN PETERBOROUGH

Ottawa Police are asking for help in locating a missing teen, who they believe may be in the Peterborough. 14 year old Abigail Dormer has been missing since September 1st, and was last seen September 8th in downtown Ottawa.

UNITED WAY SETS FUNDRAISING GOAL

We now know the official target for this year's United Way fundraising campaign. Earlier today, it was announced the organization will be trying to bring in $1.85 million this year. We spoke with Chair Neil Morton.

WITHERS, CURRIER AND MILLIGAN ALL SELECTED IN NLL DRAFT

Some local boys will get a chance to play in the NLL. At last night's draft in Toronto, Jake Withers was taken second overall by Rochester and Zach Currier went third to Calgary. Also, just down the board, Cam Milligan went 54th overall in the sixth round to the New England Black Wolves.

CANADIENS ALUMNI ROSTER ANNOUNCED FOR PETERBOROUGH GAME

Local hockey fans now know which Montréal Canadiens Alumni will be coming to the city later this year. The roster has been announced for the team's charity game on November 10th against the Peterborough Quacks.

COUNCILLORS SEND PARKING BYLAW BACK TO STAFF

A decision on new parking rules is being put off for now by city councillors. After debate and public comments at last night's Planning Committee meeting, members voted to send the bylaw back to staff. Mayor Daryl Bennett believes this was the best course of action.

WSIB CLAIMS FILED BY FORMER GE EMPLOYEES TO BE RE-OPENED

250 claims filed by former GE employees to the WSIB dating back to 2004 which were denied, will now be re-opened. The claims surrounded the use of chemicals, and the exposure to those chemicals by workers at the plant which led to both cancer and non cancer related claims.

UNITED WAY SET TO ANNOUNCE FUNDRAISING GOAL

In just a few short hours, we'll know the campaign goal for this year's United Way of Peterborough and District annual fundraiser. Campaign Chair Neil Morton and United Way CEO Jim Russell are making that announcement at a breakfast this morning at the Evinrude Centre.

PORTION OF GEORGE STREET TO BE CLOSED STARTING WEDNESDAY

If you use the southern portion of George Street to get to and from work, you'll want to come up with a new travel plan. CP Railway is doing some reconstruction of an existing railway crossing on George Street, and that work will force the closure of George from Sherbrooke to Townsend Street.

ROOMING HOUSE OWNER FACES FINES

The owners of three rooming houses in the city have been fined. Peterborough Fire Services conducted Fire Safety Inspections in March, 2016, at properties owned by a city resident on Royal Drive, King Street and Water Street, as a result of fire safety complaints related to these properties.

POLICE RELEASE IDENTITY OF HWY 7 CRASH VICTIM

OPP have released the identity of the 56 year old woman who lost her life last night. Officials say the woman was trying to cross Highway 7 near Lancaster Road when she was struck by a tractor trailer. Susan Little of Peterborough was pronounced dead at the scene.
