Peterborough Musicfest has enjoyed some big numbers through its first handful of shows and it's expected to continue to draw well. Tonight, 'Home Free' takes to the stage in Del Crary Park. General Manager Tracey Randall says the group brings something a little bit different.

The city is considering establishing a new tagline and wants to hear your thoughts. The tagline that was been presented to city councillors on Monday by marketing agency Brandhealth is 'Peterborough - Where Roads and Rivers Meet'.

VIOLENT CRIME UP IN PETERBOROUGH LAST YEAR: STATS CANADA

Is Peterborough getting to be a more violent place to live? According to the latest data put out by Stats Canada this week, the Peterborough census metropolitan area had a 20 per cent jump in violent crime in 2016 from 2015.

'TINY GREENS' TO HOST OPEN HOUSE

A local business is holding a special open house. You can check out 'Tiny Greens' on George Street today. Tiny Greens, which grows and sells microgreens, was the winner of the DBIA's 'Win This Space' competition earlier this year. The open house will be from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

THEFT PROMPTS WARNING FROM POLICE

The reminder is coming from police once again about making sure doors and windows are locked and secure, following a theft at a Waterford Street home. Theives apparently got inside the home through an unlocked door while the homeowners were away, and a laptop was stolen.

Jake Grimes is packing his bags and leaving the Petes. The OHL veteran coach has announced he'll join the Guelph Storm as an associate coach next year. General Manager Mike Oke says they are still deciding on a replacement.
