RESIDENTS WEIGH-IN ON 2017 CITY BUDGET PLAN

The city held its first meeting to get public input on the 2017 budget and it didn't quite get the response you'd expect. Less than 20 people showed up last night to share what they'd like to see in the upcoming financial plan.

MAJOR EVENTS PLANNED AT LANG PIONEER VILLAGE

One of the Peterborough area's most popular sites is back open for another year. Lang Pioneer Village is now open seven days a week until Labour Day. Museum Manager Joe Corrigan says the village's oldest building is a Fife Cabin that dates back to the 1820's.

CYCLIST STRUCK AND SENT TO HOSPITAL

A cyclist had to be taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle in the late afternoon. The victim was struck in the Hunter and Sheridan area just before 5 o'clock yesterday and was brought to PRHC with non-life threatening injuries.

THOUSANDS CHECK OUT KIEFER SUTHERLAND AT MUSICFEST

A major name, known mainly for his work in Hollywood, helped draw a big crowd for the latest show put on by Peterborough Musicfest. About 8,000 people flocked to Del Crary Park last night to watch the Kiefer Sutherland Band.

MAN'S BODY PULLED FROM THE WATER, FOUL PLAY RULED OUT

Foul play is not suspected the death of a man whose body was pulled from the water yesterday. City of Kawartha Lakes OPP are investigating an incident in which a man was found unresponsive in the water. It was about 1:20 yesterday afternoon when calls came in about a possible drowning.

"CARELESS" THREE VEHICLE CRASH ON HIGHWAY 35

A 45 year old Milverton man has been charged after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 35 before the noon hour. It was about 11:15 when City of Kawartha Lakes OPP and emergency responders raced to the scene of the three-vehicle collision at the Northline Road intersection.
