30 teams hopped into the YMCA pool earlier this month during the 31st annual Carl Oake Swimathon. The event raised roughly $45,000, with 25 per cent going to Easter Seals.

MORE CHARGES LAID IN GROUP HOME FIRE

A youth is now facing more charges as a result of a fatal fire just outside Lindsay Friday. The youth is accused of setting a fire at a group home in Oakwood that left one resident dead and two people injured. The accused was charged with second degree murder.

VEHICLE STOLEN FROM WATER STREET PARKING LOT

Police are asking for help in locating a stolen vehicle. The grey, four door 2004 Toyota Corolla was stolen from a private parking lot on Water Street sometime between Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon.

POLICE INVESTIGATING GEORGE ST ROBBERY

Police are asking for help in identifying a theft suspect. They say a lone male walked into the Mac's on George and Townsend on Saturday night at around 7pm, brandished a knife and demanded cash. The man apparently took off south on George Street with an unknown amount of cash.

LAX: TIMBERMEN WIN FIRST GAME IN PETERBOROUGH

The Peterborough Timbermen had a successful home debut at the Memorial defeating the 1st place Oshawa Outlaws 10-7 in front of nearly 600 fans. Tim Bergin, Cole McWilliams, Josh Wasson and Caleb Wiles each had a pair of goals for the home team.

LOCAL BOXER CODY CROWLEY STILL UNDEFEATED

Local boxer Cody Crowley is still undefeated as a professional. The Crippler knocked out Juan Carlos Cano of Argentina on Saturday night in Mississauga to improve to 11-0. The Douro-native also announced after the fight he's planning to fight at the Memorial Centre on May 13th.

City councillor salaries will be among the topics discussed this evening at City Hall. A citizens' committee had been looking into how much each member of council earns and has recommended they not get a raise.
